Emerging from a junction without looking

Usually Grade 3 — dangerous or potentially dangerous · automatic fail

Pulling out of a side road without looking right, left and right again forces traffic on the main road to brake.

✕ The fault

Learner rolls up to the junction…

✓ The right way

Slow down, stop at the line.

How to get it right

  1. 1Approach slowly and be ready to stop at the line.
  2. 2Look right, left, then right again — and keep looking.
  3. 3Creep forward to see past parked cars or hedges.
  4. 4Go only when there's a gap that won't make anyone slow down.
